Canadian Blood Services Production

Description

Construction, renovation and upgrades to new 153,000 sq. ft. production, distribution and testing facility. This building began construction in 2017 and continues to perform upgrades and renovations to suit the needs of the users. Governed by a Canadian Regulatory body, Canadian Blood Services employs the highest standards of quality and control. This mission critical electrical infrastructure has redundant back up power systems to support critical blood processing and storage for western Canada. Canem installed all electrical systems, including lighting, power, telecommunications cabling, security, CCTV, and all associated emergency generators and backup systems. We continue to support this facility through upgrades, and have also partnered with Canadian Blood Services, performing a routine electrical systems maintenance program.

Canem has an ongoing maintenance service agreement since 2020 with the Canadian Blood Services Facility and periodic inspections and planned preventative maintenance on the buildings electrical systems. These include but are not limited to: lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm, sprinkler systems, Infrared Testing, HV & LV distribution system, Generators & ATS, UPS, IT structured cabling system, security access control systems and solar arrays. The Canadian Blood Services facility was meticulously designed using BIM/VDC technology, coupled with a precast exterior, necessitating intricate attention to detail and coordination, particularly for electrical services.
