Construction of a new community recreation centre which included twin-sheet NHL sized ice rinks, aquatic centre, two-level fitness centre with track, gymnasium, meeting rooms and administration areas. This facility also included the construction of a new Edmonton Public Library. Meadows Community Rec Centre Project achieved LEED silver certification. This project was one of the first ‘mega’ combined/community facilities built by the City of Edmonton that included requirements for multiple user groups to be implemented into design and construction, including City of Edmonton, Hockey Edmonton, and Edmonton Public Library. Site integration also included coordination with requirement for a future District Park and two Edmonton Public School sites.
